In the end what do our choices amount to..

We all have choices....and in the end all the choices we toiled over really won't matter much....right?  We (all of us in this universe) end up in the same place...not matter your God, your religion, your beliefs, your wealth, etc...we ALL end up in the same place.

So why do we toil over such choices....and it starts at a very young age right?  As I really stop to think about it...these are some of choices that had to be made as we grew/are growing up...and sometimes they were made with an unconscious state of mind...or a mind that was not fully aware...I assume the choices that we make along our journey are to support our own individual happiness in this lifetime...

When we are young...
What to wear
Who to be friends with
Should I date
Should I trying drinking, drugs, sex
Should I skip class
Should I practice hard and be the best athlete I can be
Should I go to college
What should I major in

As we get older, the choices are greater...
Career
Marriage
Money
Kids
A Home
Divorce

And then more...
Illness
Life
Death

So every choice we make does have an impact on our physical presence in this world..but does it really have an impact when we die...do the choices we make really make a difference after we have left this world?

Hope and faith

Hope and Faith are connected...when there is one, you will usually find the other.  Here are the definitions from Merriam-Webster...

Simple Definition of hope

  • : to want something to happen or be true and think that it could happen or be true

Simple Definition of faith

  • : strong belief or trust in someone or something

Does hope come from your brain and thoughts, from your heart and emotions or from some spiritual belief or inner guidance?  Hope is very powerful...it creates a positive feeling in our being...when we have nothing else to hold on to...we have hope...hope that it will get better, hope that things will get brighter, hope that we will make it through this...  Stopping to really think about it, my hope starts in my heart, I can feel the power straight from my heart and it spreads throughout my body.

Faith must come from a more spiritual place in our being...it is almost being able to let go of the present moment, knowing that everything will be just fine.  It is finding the inner peace in yourself to be able to believe that all will be ok.  You may not realize how much faith you actually have...you have faith in the people who prepare your food when you are out to eat, you have faith in the people who take care of your children when you go to work, you have faith in your family, etc.

So, hope and faith go hand in hand...they are very powerful and something we all utilize daily.

Which road to take..

I believe that there are a series of pre-determined winding, twisting, turning, bumpy and smooth paths already set out for each of us to take...and the end result no matter which way you go, is already known.  Sooooo, just maybe... maybe, the path I chose actually chose me.....

I have never been one to take the 'easy' way...don't get me wrong, I certainly do not go out of my way to make it any more difficult than need be.  Do we really make our own choices or have our choices already somehow been made for us and we are here to experience the results?  Maybe our whole course has already been laid out.  What if everything that has already happened and will happen in our lives was already planned.

Before I thought my path was just that, a path.  I now see a deeper significance to it...it is my path to understanding life...all aspects of life...joy, pain, anger,  love, forgiveness, compassion, humility...all of it.

With all that it throws at us, this 'being' that has encased our souls...this human existence...well...it is really amazing.

Peace!
